Wagenfeld WA 23 SW Table Lamp
The Wagenfeld WA 23 SW Table Lamp has been created by Wilhelm Wagenfeld for the brand Tecnolumen. 24-year old Wagenfeld designed the lamp in 1923 when he attended a Bauhaus workshop. The late German industrial designer is remembered for this unique lamp that is still sought today. The Wagenfeld WA 23 SW Table Lamp has a nickel-plated stem that is anchored in a round glass lacquered base with studs at the bottom to balance it. At the top of the stem is a hemispherical shade that is made of opal glass. The shade is shaped by being mouth-blown into a mold using a glass-blowing pipe. The edges of the shade are finished with a trim that matches the stem, creating a neat, elegant look. A metallic on and off pull switch with a little ball at the bottom retains the retro look. The attention to detail and quality that was ensured by handcrafting made this one of the most popular desk lamps in the 20th Century.
