Stellar Nebula LED Pendant Lamp
The Stellar Nebula LED Pendant Lamp has been created by Bjarke Ingels Group 'BIG' for the brand Artemide. For this piece, the designer was inspired by artisanal glass blowing. To production of this piece involves finishing with Physical Vapor Deposition 'PVD' techniques.
The Stellar Nebula LED Pendant Lamp has a tear-drop-shaped shade. It is made of a die-cast aluminium alloy finished with mirror-polished aluminium. It is crafted by hand so no two pieces are exactly alike. Finishing done with PVD techniques has been used to give it a multi-coloured iridescent shade. The shade houses a mouth-blown diffuser made of injection-moulded fibreglass enforced with technopolymer. It has an LED light source that should only be replaced by a specialist. The shade is capped by a cover rose made of mirror-polish aluminium and its ceiling mount is made of a galvanised steel sheet.
The Stellar Nebula LED Pendant Lamp is available in three sizes. The smallest one has a height of 30cm and a diameter of 22cm while the mid-sized one has a height of 37cm and a diameter of 30cm. The largest one has a height of 55cm and a diameter of 40cm. It has a suspension height of 172cm. Its light intensity can be adjusted via a push dimmer.
