Sonora Suspension Lamp
The Sonora Suspension Lamp has been created by Vico Magistretti for the brand Oluce. First appearing in 1976, Sonora reflects Magistretti's passion for geometric simplicity. With its elegant hemispheric shade and curved cord, it is a masterpiece of minimalist style.
The shade of the Sonora Suspension Lamp is made from beautifully formed murano glass. Featuring a delicate opal glass finish, the shade has two different sizes: a smaller 19cm tall version with a diameter of 38cm and a larger model measuring 25cm tall and 50cm in diameter. Both models come with a 240cm long PVC cable and include a winding aluminium element which connects with a chromed ceiling rose to complete the design.
The Sonora Suspension Lamp emits a light that is both reflected and direct, virtually eliminating glare. The two versions differ slightly in the way they create illumination. The smaller model accommodates a single bulb, while two bulbs are required for the larger Sonora lamp. In both cases, the appropriate bulbs with the E27 socket are not supplied with the lamp. Effortlessly elegant both on or off, the Sonora Suspension Lamp will adorn bedrooms and lounges equally well.
