S 285/0 Desk
The S 285/0 Desk has been created by Marcel Breuer for the brand Thonet. The late Hungarian architect and designer Breuer made quite an impression with his works. Dedicated to modernity, he was one of the most recognised proponents of International Style, a modern architectural and product design approach. The style used new products and methods including technology to create buildings and products that were not just functional but also visually attractive.
Breuer's S 285/0 Desk is a perfect representation of this style. A complete departure from the norm of solid wooden desks, this one is slim, compact and made of steel and chipboard with a veneer. Its frame is not made of typical solid materials but tubular steel that is finished with a plating of chrome or a dark powder coating. The tabletop is finished with stained ash or protective varnishing. The innovative S 285/0 Desk has a width of 121cm, a height of 73cm and a depth of 76cm. It is ideal for setting up a work station in the corner of a living room, in a student dorm room or in a studio apartment where space is limited.
