Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll are a Norwegian duo who work out of the capital, Oslo. Respecting traditional forms while re-evaluating every product to create new innovations, the pair have put a unique spin on everything from household poufs to bar stools and - in the case of the Outline Armchair - everyday seating for lounges.
The Outline Armchair was created for the brand Muuto , and takes inspiration from Scandinavian design's golden age in the 1960s. It has a bold outline hence the name , soft upholstery, and technical qualities which make it truly exceptional. The Outline Armchair immediately strikes the eye with its widened format. Measuring 84cm wide, 88cm long and 69.5cm tall, this is a relatively spacious chair which sits somewhere between standard and sofa formats. It has elegantly sculpted armrests and all the cushions feature a soft cold foam filling which supports users admirably. A removable seat cushion rests on a wooden platform, while slender wooden legs provide ample stability. The chair as a whole represents a wonderful mix of solid design, aesthetic grace, and practical comfort.
