Nelson Saucer Crisscros Bubble Suspension Lamp
The Nelson Saucer Crisscros Bubble Suspension Lamp has been created by George Nelson for the brand HAY. First released in 1952, the Bubble Suspension Lamp was one of the high points of 20th century American design. Intended to create a glowing, relaxing source of light at minimal cost, these lamps succeeded in every respect. Now HAY has reintroduced them for a new generation.
The Nelson Saucer Crisscros Bubble Suspension Lamp has the trademark geometric appearance which made the collection to enticing. Formed from a combination of nickel and polymer plastic, the luminaire brings to mind images of flying saucers, while possessing an irresistibly playful nature. The materials also allow enough light to escape to offer an insistent glow, without any risk of glare - exactly what Nelson desired.
Each Nelson Saucer Crisscros Bubble Suspension Lamp hangs from a 183cm PVC-coated cable, and various diffuser sizes are available. Users can choose designs which measure either 19cm by 44cm or 24cm by 63.5cm. And it's also possible to combine a couple of Bubble Lamps to create unified design themes. Finally, the lamp uses an energy efficient bulb. The appropriate bulb with the E27 socket can be ordered under accessories.
