Meltdown Single Suspension Lamp
The Meltdown Single Suspension Lamp was created by Johan Lindstein for the Italian lighting brand Cappellini. Delicate, stylish and crafted by master glass-blowers, it is an exceptional example of designer lighting and will grace anyone's home.
Lindstein is one of Sweden's leading young designers, having graduated quickly from his academic background to running his own Stockholm-based studio and collaborating with major names like Cappellini, FontanaArte and Johanson. The reason for his popularity among Europe's biggest lighting labels is encapsulated by the Meltdown Single Suspension Lamp. Lindstein creates items that establish personal connections with their users, possess sensual grace and function brilliantly.
This particular lamp is designed to hang from the ceiling via an adjustable 250cm long cable. At the end of the cable, an energy efficient E27/70W halogen bulb is encased by a beautiful mouth-blown glass orb, which creates a soft, welcoming, almost ethereal source of light.
Introduced in 2013, the Meltdown collection features a recurring motif of light seeming to "melt" through the blown-glass. The result is a gorgeous, original effect particularly when a variety of Meltdown lamps are hung in combination and one that will suit most home interiors.
