Cappellini was founded in 1946 and quickly outgrew its origins as a small family-run business specialising in handcrafted furniture. In the decades that followed, the brand established itself as a leading manufacturer of premium furniture, collaborating with some of the most dynamic and exciting designers around. Swedish designer Johan Lindstén has been working since 2008 in the field of furniture and lighting design, with the Meltdown Grape of 4 Suspension Lamp standing as a particular high point of his career.
Lindstén takes his inspirations from Fukushima disaster with the Meltdown lighting series. The distinct spherical bodies and twisted lamps give the illusion of sinking, while the lacquered metallic elements create a moody aesthetic when the fitting is illuminated. An ideal choice for the more modern interior, this stylish suspension lamp is a perfect centrepiece for smaller rooms and works brilliantly when coordinated alongside 8-light suspension lamps from the Meltdown collection.
