Honey Pot

The Honey Pot was designed by British designer Theo Williams for the manufacturer Alessi.

Here's the proof that even a simple pot can be a design classic. While walking past a shop window, Theo Williams was famously so inspired by a Philippe Starck design that he travelled to Milan and asked Alberto Alessi for a job. Some 20 years later, one of Williams' first big commissions has proved a best seller around the world.

The design was part of an experimental project that emphasised harmony of shape and proportion: Williams and his fellow designers took inspiration from the principles of geometry and the designs in nature. The glass crystal Honey pot 19.7cm x 8.7cm shows off the lovely golden colour of the honey inside. It's capped with a stainless steel lid that has a built-in dripper -- it's perfect for drizzling the precious nectar into recipes, onto toast, or for gently dripping or swirling into a cup of aromatic herbal tea. It's as brilliantly practical as you would expect from Williams, who is a born product designer - driven to improve and innovate the everyday items he comes across.
