Crate Outdoor Lounge Sofa
The Crate Outdoor Lounge Sofa has been designed by Gerrit Rietveld for the brand HAY. Angular, boxy and distinctive, this quality piece sits within the now iconic HAY Crate collection, all based on an original design that dates back to the 1930s and was inspired to make use of surplus wooden shipping crates.
Finished in warm, light natural pine, the Crate Outdoor Lounge Sofa is made from New Zealand pine, grown in FSC®-certified operations. Much like the whole of the Crate collection, the piece has sustainable credentials, with the use of regional transport routes during production and water-based lacquer for a lesser environmental load. The sofa has a width of 134.5cm, a height of 77cm and a depth of 64.5cm. The seat height is 32cm and the sofa weighs a reassuringly solid 29.5kg.
The Crate Outdoor Lounge Sofa has a simple, chunky design that is at once timeless and informally elegant. With a reclining back, the design focuses on balance and the use of dried wood that will withstand the elements. The sofa is approved for the contract market and can be further enhanced with cushions and pads from the Crate range for an appealing, stylish outdoor space.
