Cloud LED Suspension Lamp XL
The Cloud LED Suspension Lamp XL has been created by Frank Owen Gehry for the brand Belux. Best known as a major architect, Gehry is also an accomplished designer of small-scale lighting. And he brings the same postmodern creativity to bear on lighting as he does to major museums and office buildings. This is an entry in his Cloud series, created for one of Switzerland's most prestigious lighting brands.
As the name hints, the Cloud XL LED Suspension Lamp takes the form of a wispy cloud, and will add an element of natural wonder to interior spaces around the home. The cloud-like diffuser is actually made from a paper-like plastic which has been crimped and puffed by hand and features a number of different elements to create the effect. It is supported by a discrete steel frame inside the diffuser which allows the shade to speak for itself.
The Cloud XL LED Suspension Lamp measures 150cm wide and 55cm deep, with a height of 55cm. This makes it one of the larger Cloud models. It hangs from a pair of aluminium suspension cables and generates a rich light source with minimal glare that will suit dining tables and workspaces well. The luminaire has built-in LED light sources that can only be replaced by a specialist.
