Tung JA3 Side Table
The Tung JA3 Side Table has been created by John Astbury for the brand &Tradition. The inspiration for this design came from the pillars that were a typical feature of ancient buildings. These pillars were commonly found on Roman, Georgian and Greek buildings. The designer aspired to present their imposing strength and presence in the form of a table.
The Tung JA3 Side Table design was born from his interest and passion for support structures. He focuses on presenting them in pieces that are practical and aesthetic. He does this by combining the textures and forms of different materials into unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. For this table, he went with solid MDF that is milled and then varnished with high gloss paint. It has a round table top that is rimmed around the edges. It rests on three pillars that are finished to match.
The Tung JA3 Side Table has a height of 48cm and a diameter of 38cm. With its minimalist design, this side table can be used not only in homes but also in commercial spaces like offices and waiting rooms. It can also be used in hospitality establishments like hotel rooms.
