Prismatic Side Table
The Prismatic Side Table has been created by Isamu Noguchi for the brand Vitra. Its design is inspired by traditional Japanese paper folding. The designer has a revisited an older version of this product, which once used a playful kaleidoscope of colours, where this version focuses on monochrome.
The Prismatic Side Table is made of powder-coated sheets of aluminium. They have been shaped into different modules that are then joined together. Each one has a hexagon-shaped top with two of its sides extending downwards. Each one has the shape of a right-angled triangle. Three modules are joined together to form a single table, with a wide surface for displaying pictures, potted plants or a decorative lamp. Each has its own shade of grey. The final result is not only one with mixed tones but also a three-legged table with a hexagon-shaped top.
The Prismatic Side Table has a length of 41cm, a width of 47.4cm and a height of 37.5cm. Apart from a side table, a pair can also be used as bedside tables. Wherever it is placed, it will make a visually striking and functional piece.
