Pli Side Table Low
The Pli Side Table was designed by Victoria Willmotte for the manufacturer ClassiCon. Based in Munich, this company lives up to its name by producing classic contemporary pieces of furniture constructed out of high-quality, eco-friendly materials, often in limited editions. Working in her home city of Paris, Victoria Willmotte is an up and coming young designer with a very personal, sculptural aesthetic. Not long after graduating from London's Royal College of Art, she held her first extremely successful solo exhibition in Brussels.
One of Victoria Willmotte's previous commissions involved working with stone and this has clearly inspired the Pli Side Table from ClassiCon, with its marbled finish in a range of rich patterns and hues. Measuring 48cm in height, 42cm in width and 56cm in length, this strikingly unusual piece features an oval glass top tinted with a layer of lacquer. This is set eccentrically on an irregularly shaped pedestal made out of folded steel which has been treated to produce a range of shimmering colours. With its multiple facets and glittering surfaces, the Pli Side Table is a fascinating art object and conversation piece, ideal for an eclectically decorated lounge or bedroom.
