Rib Cabinet
The Rib Cabinet has been created by Simon Legald for the brand Normannn Copenhagen. It gets its name from the ribbing detail down its front. The design is inspired by the 1960 architecture that was commonly seen in Scandinavian summer houses. They were adorned with vertical wooden slats along the front.
The Rib Cabinet is made of oak veneer finished with lacquer. The ribs that give it its name are made of solid oak. They are trapeze-shaped which adds visual interest and breaks up the cabinet's box-shaped profile. Inside, there are removable shelves that can be adjusted in height. This makes it possible to store all manner of items in it including smaller media items or books and larger options like vases. It can be placed in a dining area or living room to hold items that will be used in this space or in an entryway. Its two doors are opened and closed with a push latch which eliminates the need for handles and keeps its silhouette clean and uncluttered.
The Rib Cabinet has a length of 98.5cm, a width of 45cm and a height of 96cm. It is available in natural oak.
