S 43 PVDR Office Chair
The S 43 PVDR Office Chair has been created by Mart Stam for the brand Thonet. Stam first introduced the S 43 chair in 1931, and it became an instant classic. Relying on tubular steel for the cantilever frame, this modernist masterwork set the bar for minimalist furniture. And it remains as elegant and functional as ever, offering a fine seating option for studies, bedroom desks and offices of all varieties.
The S 43 PVDR Office Chair has an cross-shaped base which supports the sitter via five legs, all of which have casters attached. The base can also be used to adjust the height of the chair via an easy to access lever. As for the seat and back, Stam's original plywood design has been retained. The seat is curved slightly to be as comfortable as possible, while both seat and back are foam filled and upholstered in attractive Gabriel Step fabric.
