EA 119 Aluminium Chair Leather Polished Base

The EA 119 Aluminium Chair Leather Polished Base has been created by Ray & Charles Eames for the brand Vitra.As early as 1958 when the chair was designed, the design couple was defying convention and charting their own path. With this chair, they did away with the traditional inner frame with foam padding and upholstery over it.

The EA 119 Aluminium Chair Leather Polished Base has a frame made of polished aluminium which is lightweight and long-lasting. The chair has a high, wide backrest and a seat that is also well-sized. It can be adjusted with a back tilt mechanism and locked in a forward position. Seat height can also be adjusted. Standard-grade cowhide leather embossed with a uniform grain pattern has been used for upholstery. Armrests on either side enhance the chair's comfort. The shell of the chair is supported by an aluminium frame that is polished to match the top part of it. It has a star-shaped base that has five legs with double castors on each one.
