CH36 Chair Frame Oak
The CH36 Chair Frame Oak has been created by Hans J. Wegner for the brand Carl Hansen. First introduced in 1962, the CH36 is a fine example of craftsmanship and mid-century European design. Inspired by 19th century American styles, CH36 is subtle and refined, with artisanal details scattered throughout its composition.
The basic form of the CH36 Chair Frame Oak is simple, with a curved horizontal back bar, a woven seat and four legs. However, little details emerge as you look deeper. For instance, the rear legs are gently tapered at top and bottom, while the front legs taper towards the base. The curve of the backrest is also more accentuated at the base than the top - a feature that helps to support the shape of the human back more effectively.
