S 43 H Bar Stool 76cm
The S 43 H Bar Stool 76cm has been created by Mart Stam for the brand Thonet. First launched in 1931, the S 43 stool was a pathbreaking design which did away with back legs and utilised the properties of tubular steel to come up with a completely original format. Now reintroduced by German brand Thonet, the stool remains stylish and highly functional, whether it is used at kitchen bars or in living rooms.
The S 43 H Bar Stool 76cm stands out with its mix of steel and plywood materials. Stam uses tubular steel for the frame, which curves elegantly from base to tip and has a pared-down minimalist appearance. There are no legs. Instead, the stool sits on a square-shaped base with four protective pads attached, which make the stool easy to glide and protect fragile floors. Meanwhile, the plywood seat and backrest have been subtly curved to accommodate sitters comfortably, while keeping the design as simple as possible.
This version of the stool measures 112cm high, 45cm wide and 55cm deep, with a seat height of 76cm. It all comes together to make the S 43 H Bar Stool 76cm extremely enjoyable to use and visually impressive.
