Stedge Wall Shelf 80cm
The Stedge Wall Shelf 80cm has been created by Leonard Aldenhoff for the brand Woud. Stedge is a series of shelving products which seeks to reduce the bulk of conventional designs. Instead, German designer Aldenhoff has come up with a shelf that's marked by lightness and simplicity, while retaining a high degree of strength. The Stedge Wall Shelf 80cm measures 80cm long and comes with two levels. Both are made from extremely slender solid oak, which has been left to express its natural texture. The two shelves appear to float in the air, yet are connected to each other and the wall via a thin metallic wire. This creates a sense of illusion and wonder, while supporting loads capably.
The idea behind the Stedge Wall Shelf 80cm is to free space that would otherwise be occupied by wall brackets and other shelving elements. The two 80cm long and 22cm deep shelves of this design are left uncluttered and ready for use. The unit has a total height of 120cm but thanks to its economical construction, it weighs just 6.8kg. It can be combined with other Stedge products to create lighter-than-air home storage solutions.
