Day Bed Grand Lounge
The Day Bed Grand Lounge was designed by Eileen Gray for the manufacturer ClassiCon.
Seen as one of her most innovative designs, this product aims to offer pleasant, relaxing comfort. An enchantingly ideal centrepiece, this ClassiCon masterpiece is easily accessible from all four sides and stands at the perfect height. The Day Bed Grand Lounge is made from a beech framework and polyurethane, over which is a soft fabric upholstery cover. Transcending the past, present, and future, Eileen Gray's Day Bed Grand Lounge has a tubular steel frame that is chrome plated and complements its functionality and minimalist style.
With its dual utilisation as a bed, sofa or couch, the Day Bed Grand Lounge provides a solution to the rise in average body height during the last 50 years. This designer item has an extra 10cm increase in length and a 4cm width allowance, which puts its total dimensions at the height of 60cm, width 200cm, and a depth of 90cm. Its seat height is 43cm with the steel tubing allowing a backrest height of 60cm. A loose mattress covered with a polyester, cotton and polyurethane cover is supported by a Bonell spring core and lined with 100% wool felt.
