The PH Artichoke Suspension Lamp Ø48cm was designed by Poul Henningsen for the label Louis Poulsen.
Poul Henningsen was one of the leading lighting designers of the 20th century. His pioneering work to create soft and warm illumination, rather than the harsh lighting so common at the start of the 20th century, led to global recognition. Many examples of his modern lighting designs are displayed in the world's top design museums. Henningsen collaborated with Louis Poulsen from the mid-1920s, and the manufacturer holds the rights to some of the designer's best-known lighting creations, the PH Artichoke and PH5.
The PH Artichoke Suspension Lamp Ø48cm is renowned for its warm lighting. The manufacturer guarantees the lamp offers 100% glare-free illumination. This is due to its elaborate design, featuring 72 leaves, positioned in the most precise manner to provide 12 rows of six leaves. Hence the reason for the lamp's name. This suspension lamp measures 46.5cm in height and has a diameter of 48cm. It is available in different finishes and weighs 8.7kg. The light requires one 100w E27 halogen bulb that must be ordered separately.
