PH 5/5 Suspension Lamp Metal
The PH 5/5 Suspension Lamp Metal has been created by Poul Henningsen for the brand Louis Poulsen. Danish architect and industrial designer Henningsen was a pioneer of Danish Modernism. He is best known for the 1958 PH collection of glare-free, shaded lamps like the PH 5/5 Suspension Lamp Metal.
This innovative lighting collection is based around a reflective system featuring three shades. Thanks to this three-shade design, the lamp casts an almost glare-free light downward, while the lamp's reflector also casts a muted lateral beam. This illuminates the light itself, showing off its unique design. The bowl-shaped shades are made of lacquered aluminium and are nested with the largest on top, a smaller bowl in the middle and an even smaller one at the bottom. Sandblasted glass inside the shade at the bottom acts as an efficient diffuser, while two almost invisible screens enhance the spectral component of the light.
The PH 5/5 Suspension Lamp Metal has an external dimmer and comes with a 400cm long suspension cable. It has a height of 43cm and a diameter of 50cm and is available in soft touch black. The luminaire includes an E27 socket.
