PH 3/2 Suspension Lamp
The PH 3/2 Suspension Lamp has been created by Poul Henningsen for the brand Louis Poulsen. Its design was inspired by the quest to create fixtures that could provide direct, glare-free light. This was achieved by approaching production with a scientific eye.
The PH 3/2 Suspension Lamp has a trio of shades. They are made of hand-blown opal glass that is glossy on the exterior and sandblasted to a matte texture on the underside. This works to control glare and provide uniform light distribution. The bowl-shaped shades are inverted and tiered with the largest on top, a medium-sized one at the middle and the smallest one at the bottom. Every shade controls how much light falls on it which controls glare and eliminates shadows. The lamp casts direct light downwards. The lamp has a cylinder-shaped support on top of the tiers. They conceal the wires and direct the suspension cable to the ceiling.
The PH 3/2 Suspension Lamp has a height of 24.2cm and a diameter of 29cm. Its cable is 300cm long. It comes with mounting supports with different metallic finishes. The appropriate bulb for the E27 socket has to be purchased separately. Replacement parts for the lamp are also available for purchase separately.
