AJ Royal LED Suspension Lamp Ø 50cm
The AJ Royal LED Suspension Lamp Ø 50cm was designed by Arne Jacobsen for the brand Louis Poulsen.
Before he became known for his unique accessories design, Jacobsen was a respected architect in his native Denmark, his building designs greatly influencing the Danish skyline. Even as he created or oversaw the construction of buildings, he worked on other projects such as designing teaspoons for his cutlery set.
Arne Jacobsen also worked on lighting accessories, including this AJ Royal LED Suspension Lamp Ø 50cm. Originally designed for the SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, this beautiful lamp combines function and distinct, timeless design. It directs light downwards without glare by filtering it through a frosted acrylic diffuser disc. It also has a luminous halo that passes through steel slats from the top of the dome. The updated version has an in-built LED light source that makes it very energy efficient. It measures 22.4 x 50 cm, has a cable length of 300cm and a diffuser with a diameter of 37cm. The unique AJ Royal LED Suspension Lamp Ø 50cm works as well in homes as it does in shops, receptions, shops, restaurants and other commercial spaces.
