Swan™ Chair Leather Warm Graphite Base
The Swan™ Chair Leather Warm Graphite Base has been created by Arne Jacobsen for the brand Fritz Hansen. The late Danish architect and industrial designer is considered to be one of the fathers of modern design or architectural functionalism in the mid century. The 1958 Swan™ Chair Leather Warm Graphite Base is a good example. Jacobsen was definitely ahead of his time with this chair's design, which has a wide, high curved back that narrows at the bottom and then broadens out into a generously sized seat. The chair's seat is raised at the ends to form arm rests. The backrest and seat shell are made of a moulded CombiPUR shell covered with polyurethane foam that is reinforced with fibreglass. The seat and backrest are one piece, giving the chair a clean, sleek profile. The back has a covering of tricot wadding and over this is placed premium quality leather upholstery. The chair rests on a warm graphite base made of a stainless steel stem that rises from a star-shaped swivel base of polished aluminum.
The Swan™ Chair Leather Warm Graphite Base has a width of 74cm, a height of 77cm and a depth of 68cm. Its seat height is 40cm, its armrest height is 58cm and its backrest height is 77cm.
