Series 7™ Chair Natural Veneer
The Series 7™ Chair Natural Veneer has been created by Arne Jacobsen for the brand Fritz Hansen. The late Danish industrial designer Jacobsen, who was also an architect, was a big part of the country's architectural functionalism movement. His chair designs were particularly successful at home and abroad. One of his best-selling pieces, which is still sought after today, is the Series 7™ Chair Natural Veneer. It is made using a technology that was new at the time and involves compressing layers of veneer together. This not only created a strong, durable shell but a way to achieve a very unique shape. This chair is a series of curves from the upper edge of the backrest that tapers and then widens out again into the seat. The shape of the chair complements that of a person. The shell rests on a frame made of steel tubes with a chrome finish and gliders under the legs. This chair has a clear protective finish that allows the grains and tones of veneer to show.
