Parentesi Floor Lamp
The Parentesi Floor Lamp has been created by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzu for the brand Flos. Designed in 1971, it has several features that were the first at that time. This includes the materials it is made of and its adjustability.
The Parentesi Floor Lamp has an industrial aesthetic. It has a slim, rounded nickel-plated stem. It is anchored by a raised circular base and rises to the ceiling where it is secured in a similarly shaped ceiling plate. Its round shade is made of injection-moulded elastomer. The bulb is inserted into the end of the shade. It is exposed which enhances the industrial style of the piece. The lamp casts direct light. The direction it is projected can be adjusted by sliding the head up and down the stem. The head can also be rotated in other directions.
The Parentesi Floor Lamp has a height of 58cm and its cable has a length of 400cm. Its ceiling plate has a diameter of 7cm and its base has a diameter of 11cm. It is not dimmable. It comes in neutral-coloured stems that are uniform from top to bottom, or a variant that has a brightly coloured section. It has an E27 socket and works with a standard spotlight bulb that has to be purchased separately.
