Poppins Umbrella Stand
The Poppins Umbrella Stand is an imaginative new spin on conventional umbrella holders that was created by Edward Barber for the Italian label Magis.
In designing this product, Barber set himself an interesting problem. He noticed that the majority of umbrella stands catered for hooked umbrellas, but didn't accommodate the squat designs of fold-up varieties very well. Instead of a rack style umbrella holder, he found that a collection of holes worked best - allowing people to drop their umbrella in, whatever its shape and size.
The Poppins Umbrella Stand was the end result of his thought process. It includes six generously sized holes that have the depth to collect excess water and are large enough to hold both extendable and full-length umbrellas. Its triangular shape is also ideal for tucking into the corners of cloakrooms or porches, so that umbrellas can be stored in a space-efficient way.
The stand has dimensions of 33 x 30 x 33 cm. The use of ABS plastic ensures that it is extremely lightweight as well. So, if you have a set of dripping umbrellas that need to be moved to a different spot, it should be easy to do so.
