Colombina Wall Mirror

The Colombina Wall Mirror has been created by Doriana + Massimiliano Fuksas for the brand Alessi. It has been christened Colombina after a similarly named collection crafted by the same design duo. This piece is a reimagination of the original with details that put it in a class of its own.

The Colombina Wall Mirror throws out all convention that comes with traditional mirrors. The frame it is mounted on has an irregular shape that is nothing close to the typical circle, rectangle or square. Rather, it resembles an oddly shaped pebble you might come across on a shore. It is made of stainless steel and finished with dark epoxy lacquer. The mirror also has an uncommon shape. It is similar to that of the frame but it is mounted on it such that its own pebble-like shape is juxtaposed rather than aligned to the frame's.

The Colombina Wall Mirror has a length of 65cm, a width of 73cm and a height of 3.5cm. Wherever it is placed, it will reflect not only light but a fantastic albeit quirky sense of style. Its visual effect can be maximised by lining up a pair, row or cluster of mirrors.
